music discoveries (25/25/25)
merry christmas! im currently in cancun right now and theres a few songs i've recently discovered that i just want to put down somewhere, some are new, some aren't, but they're all new to me! not toooo much of substance to say about any of these songs, but just listen and enjoy!
songs 1-2: klô pelgag - umami & mélamine
i discovered klo pelgag for a high school french assignment (shoutout to the song libre). i never really explored more of her music, but recently stumbled upon these two songs which i REALLY love - reminds me a lot of kate bush.
song 3: lou-adriane cassidy - dis-moi dis-moi dis-moi
another french song. i don't know why but i'm loving french music recently (and i finally understand the words!). i REALLY love the lyric "je chante plus fort pour enterrer ta voix".
song 4: solange - binz
it feels embarassing that i found this song through a tweet hating on jimmy fallon (especially because i LOVE so much of solange's discography), but very happy i found this song!! it's great.
song 5: the last dinner party - second best
finally got around to listening to their new album, love this song!
song 6: whitney houston - greatest love of all
i fear i discovered this song from that embarassing clip of nicole scherzinger stealing the microphone from that poor performer on x factor, but i listened to the original and LOVE it.
song 7: bjork - play dead
HOW HAVE I NEVER FOUND THIS SONG? i love bjork (bjork ≠ grimes @sophia). this is SO well produced and may be one of my favs of hers.
songs 8-9: kate bush - experiment iv & rocket man
ive known about both of these songs for quite some time but now they're easily accessible through a new kate bush compilation album! love both, the cover of rocket man is great (esp the part where she just says "rocket man" - imo its a booming harmony #callback)
